Our church is led by a group of elders who help bring spiritual leadership and oversee ministry teams. These areas include worship, prayer, spiritual growth, missions, community outreach, and financial stewardship. We take this church leadership model from I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
Our deacons lead ministry teams that help minister to the practical needs in the life of our church and community. These areas include fellowship, congregational care, community service & outreach, and caring for our building and facilities. We see this model in Acts 6:1-7 and I Timothy 3:8-13.
The College Corner Presbyterian Church Session and members has called Pastor Jeff Schrage to the pulpit effective Monday, September 16, 2019.
Jeff, an Indiana transplant, grew up in an Air Force family and married a Hoosier, Shannon. He has served in formal ministry for a decade in Youth & Family ministry at churches in Pennsylvania, Texas, and Indiana before being called to College Corner Presbyterian Church. Jeff received a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC in 2013 and did his undergraduate work at Spartanburg Methodist College (1998) and Anderson Univeristy (2000) in South Carolina.
As a pastor, Jeff hopes to build community, equip disciples, and call all mankind to live for the glory of God above all things. As a believer, he hopes to be a loving husband to Shannon, a great father to his five children (Samantha, Max, Lillian, Reece, and Henry), and a humble disciple of Christ. As a human, Jeff loves coffee, family, NFL football (and sports in general), reading, and running.
We minister to youth cooperatively with local churches. We have church parents who help serve and also a local couple who serve several local churches in a community youth group. We also have a Young Life ministry beginning that will send Miami University Young Life leaders to reach kids at Union County High School.
Susan Rooney serves in our church office and takes care of our church communication, phones, and administrative tasks for ministry.
