As we experience the love of God personally, our natural response is to reach out to others. Taking Christ’s love out beyond our stained glass windows, we want to partner with God in mission by sharing with our community and the world His message of new life, love, healing and change.
Our mission fields include:
Our church ministers cooperatively with local churches through our local community Christian center, The Junction. This is the home of our local food pantry, health ministry, youth group, and community functions. It may be rented for community events. In the food pantry and health ministry you may receive help for yourself or you may serve others by donating food and time in the pantry stocking food or helping patrons select food. The health ministry does diabetes screenings, blood pressures and general wellness checks. They are open the last Saturday of the month from 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. The Junction is where “Christ’s love meets our community’s needs.” More information and contact info is on their website.
We’re excited to support Young Life, a ministry which seeks to introduce youth to Jesus Christ and help them grow in faith. In this new ministry in our community, students from Miami University are helping our students at Union County High School discover Jesus and walk in friendship with Him for a life-time. Personal contact ministry at the school, a small group Bible study, a high-energy large group time, and summer camp are all part of the focus of Young Life to reach kids.
In June of 2018, we’ll be travelling to Monterrey, Mexico to serve orphans with the ministry of Back2Back. Back2Back seeks to care holistically for orphans to meet their spiritual, physical, educational, emotional, and social needs. We are beginning a long-term relationship with this ministry and would love for you to join us as we serve.
Friends of Hope
Friends of Hope was begun by a local community member as a ministry that seeks to share the love of Jesus with children in India. We have partnered with Friends of Hope to help rent and furnish a safe house for teenage girls in India caught in the cycle of child trafficking.
Oxford College Corner Clinic
Another community service that uses our facility in the Fellowship Hall is The Oxford College Corner Clinic which offers medical care on the third Wednesday of the month at 6 p.m. Call (513) 524-5426 to make an appointment. Though not a church ministry, we support the OCCC as a group which seeks to offer medical care to those in need of help in a hard season of their lives, just as Jesus would help in His compassion. The clinic seeks to reach the chronically ill who have significant health costs.
